Description
Stuart Buchanan:
“I live in the old fishing village of Catterline, Aberdeenshire on Scotland’s east coast. When The Distillers’ Art Limited asked me to think of a whisky that I liked my immediate thought was the anCnoc single malt back across the ‘Shire. I’d seen the picturesque Knockdhu distillery several times as there’s a lovely road that goes past it between Huntly and Portsoy on the Moray coast, a trip we often make as a family. I went up on a fine autumn day in late October and tried to catch the essence of the place in one sitting. It’s a lovely distillery and I hope that my painting has done it justice. I’m looking forward to heading back there and meeting the distillery manager Gordon Bruce and his dogs again.”
Whisky Curator George Thomson:
“The Knockdhu distillery from which we are proud to have a cask chosen by Gordon Bruce the distillery manager to capture the specific essence of anCnoc.”
